COMPETITION

To register for the competition, you must first register for the Convention.

Please join us at the very first SPCP Permanent Cosmetic Competition taking place at our 30th annual SPCP Convention & Trade Show September 25-27, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Win trophies, certificates, an exclusive spread in the SPCP Quarterly, and bragging rights! This is a completely anonymous competition with coded entry reviews.
Your entry will be judged solely on photo and practice pad review by the judging panel – this is not a popularity contest. Show the judges what you got and take the win! This is a free competition with the attendance of the Convention & Trade Show.

Competition participation is available to Convention attendees who pre-register only and check in during this time period.

  • 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Hands-On Portion of the Procedure Competition

After check-in you should set up as soon as possible for the practice pad portion to accompany your before and after examples of your procedure choice.
Convention Speakers are the Judges.
Winners will be announced at the Monday Luncheon.

RULES

You will be judged on your photo submissions and hands on practice pad submission.

All competition participants:

  • Must be registered to attend the SPCP Convention to participate in this free competition.
  • Must pre-register from the link below and check in between 5-5:30 pm Friday, September 24th, then set up for the hands-on portion that will take place promptly at 6:00 pm.
  • May only compete in 1 out of the 4 categories.
  • Must complete hands on portion in 45 minutes on practice pad that will be provided to you.
  • Must bring your own equipment; tattoo machine or microblade, power supply, needles, practice pigment(s), baby wipes, pigment cups, tissues, Vaseline (to hold pigment cup/clean off excess pigment from pad), dilution solution (if applicable), drawing materials to map, barrier products if desired to keep machine/power supply clean. We will provide practice pad so everyone is working on the same canvas.
  • Must perform hands-on portion on practice pad in conjunction to photos that coincide with category selected & photos to compete.
  • Contestant is to bring in 3 5×7 printed photos, (matte or glossy) NOT edited, photoshopped, or watermarked.
    • Photo #1: Before picture with no makeup etc., well lit, front view angle.
    • Photo #2: Immediately after procedure picture, same angle as before picture.
    • Photo #3: HEALED after picture, same angle as before & immediately after picture, (suggested to get after pic after 2nd session touch up heals if applicable.)
    • OPTIONAL photo #4 Close-up of healed work.
  • Pictures are to be taken of the same client all the way through, well lit, not photoshopped, clear images/not blurry etc. All pictures should be the same angle/lighting; front view to observe symmetry & detail. (Close-up optional photo #4 submission if desired is permitted in addition to photo #3. If any of the 3 photos are missing, wrong size/angle, photoshopped/watermarked will be automatically disqualified.)
  • Contestant will submit their practice pad and 3 required 5×7 photos (and optional 4th photo close-up of healed work) after hands-on portion is completed Friday. Submissions are to be placed in provided coded baggie to ensure anonymity.

CATEGORIES

4 total & 1 ultimate winner will be selected.

Each category will have a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winner. Each 1st place winner will be placed into the finals where 1 will be deemed “Ultimate Permanent Cosmetic Winner.”

  1. Eyeliner (top or bottom lid, top & bottom lid, smoky, wedge, or traditional)
  2. Lips (blended liner, contoured liner, full lip, blush lip (more translucent), or two-tone contoured full lip)
  3. Hair Stroke Brows (microbladed brows, combination brows, or machine hairstroke brows)
  4. Shaded Brows (powder brows, or ombre powder brows)

WINNERS

Announced Monday at the Annual Members Luncheon

  • Each category (4 categories) will have a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners.
  • 1st place winners will get trophy and certificate and will qualify for “Best in Show or Permanent Cosmetics Ultimate Champion”
  • 2nd & 3rd place winners will be given certificates
  • All first-place winners will be placed into the finals and only one will be deemed the Permanent Cosmetic Ultimate Champion. She/He will win another trophy, certificate, and an exclusive spread in SPCP Quarterly.

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Judges will be done by the Convention Speakers on coded submissions, unknown to any of them.
  • Judging will be based on; precision, saturation, blending, healed color, design, symmetry, proportions, balance, detail, (line work if applicable) of photo submissions & practice pad submission.

COMPETITION REGISTRATION

Registration is available on a first-come, first registered basis. To be fair to all, please notify us as soon as possible if you need to drop out of the competition so that another person who is wait-listed may compete.

Based on the number of registrations coming in, we may need to limit the number of entries. Please enter 1st or 2nd choice of entry category on the registration application if you will accept a second-choice option in the event your 1st choice procedure is full. Be sure you are already registered for the Convention. You will be notified upon acceptance of your application or if you become wait-listed. If wait-listed, we will notify you only if room to compete becomes available.
